Cabo 35 Express

Cabo 35 Express

Cabo 35 Express

The Cabo 35 Express is a top-level sportfishing machine whose impeccable detailing, superior engineering and rugged construction made her one of the top-selling boats in her class for several years. Constructed on a modified-V hull with a relatively wide beam and a shallow keel, the hull was updated in 2000 with a finer entry to provide a softer ride and improved head-sea performance. While a centerline double berth was offered in early models, more recent interiors were offered with a traditional V-berth or an offset double berth forward. Cabin headroom is excellent and the decor is very upscale for a fishing boat. The cockpit is big for a 35-footer and came standard with a bait prep center, transom door, two in-deck storage boxes, deck washdowns, and plenty of rod storage. An L-shaped settee is opposite the helm (a companion seat was optional), and the entire bridge deck lifts for access to the motors. In 2002, the deck tooling was updated and side vents were added to the windshield. Early models with 375hp Cats cruise in the mid 20s; later models with 540hp Cummins cruise at 30+ knots.

More about the Cabo 35 Express

Some boats claim to raise fish. Others, like the CABO 35 Express, let their success speak for itself. In addition, the 35 is a favorite of charter captains and seasoned anglers worldwide. She features a hull with small propeller pockets and clean underwater lines that create ideal trolling alleys behind the transom.

Vessel speed and efficiency are critical for getting you to the fishing grounds faster and allowing you to stay longer. With turbo-charged, the 35 Express has a top speed and range that leaves the competition in her wake. In addition, her ability to back down swiftly and pivot nimbly can make the difference between boating a trophy fish or reeling in a broken line. And thanks to a wide beam, modified-V bottom, and low center of gravity, this CABO is extraordinarily stable in all sea conditions.

The team at CABO started with the cockpit, the most critical area for fishermen, and built the rest of the boat around it. With nearly 100 square feet of fighting space, there’s enough room to handle multiple hookups. The big bait prep center has four deep tackle drawers, a sink, and an icebox for cockpit convenience. Two large, insulated, gasketed fish boxes feature oversized drains and macerators to quickly clear away debris when sprayed out with the fresh and saltwater washdowns. The 35 Express also comes with locking storage to accommodate all your favorites.

The comfortable interior provides custom-caliber amenities like polished countertops with sea rails, designer fabrics, and ample storage throughout. From the deep-pile carpeting to the recessed halogen lighting, the CABO 35 Express is both practical and luxurious everywhere you look.

*As the owner and president of Kusler Yachts I can personally attest to the Cabo 35 Express model.  Our family owned a Cabo 35 Express that we purchased in San Diego.  Soon after purchase we outfitted this boat to head South to La Paz Mexico. Some great upgrades we did prior to travel to Mexico were: adding a 12V water maker for the long 800 plus mile run (this allowed to wash the boat underway and get some of the salt off, not to mention not worry about a hot shower), a removable fuel bladder since there were limited fuel stops, adding a Furuno sector scan sonar for finding the bait and fish on the “ridge” and “magdalena bay”, extensive spare parts, and lastly re-plumbing the entire head system (so there were no “issues” on the trip to name a few.  I typically don’t chime in on best boats to buy but this size and package with the CAT 3126B 450HP engines and upgraded Northern Light Gen set suited us very well (reliability to us was evertything). We travelled extensively on the sea of cortex between Cabo San Lucas and La Paz.
